I recently bought this beautiful book by Dr Dean Sherzai and Dr Ayesha Sherzai. The title may be a little misleading as it will not cure anyone of Alzheimer's in 30-days. However, the 30-day plan that is outlined in this book will help you get started on a path to a healthier brain and overall healthier, more enjoyable life.


Team Sherzai uses the acronym NEURO to talk about what it means to live a brain healthy life. NEURO stands for Nutrition, Exercise, Unwind, Restore and Optimize. The book breaks down what is the optimal habits you should incorporate in your life within these categories. For nutrition, they talk about why a plant-based diet is the best diet for your brain. They also include some delicious recipes for you to make. For exercise, they give you the science behind the importance of exercise for your brain's health. Additionally, they give you many useful tips to get more movement throughout your day. Unwind is all about stress management. Restore is about resting your body and the importance of sleep. Optimize is about challenging your brain in a purpose-driven way.


I think this book offers valuable advice for anyone no matter where you are on your healthy lifestyle journey. I know that I plan to incorporate what I learned from their book into my life. Follow along as I break down each NEURO category it upcoming blog posts.
